How To Remote Start Your Subaru Outback

There are two avenues to remotely starting your Outback, the first involves your keyfob!

• On your key fob, press and release the "lock" button two times.
• Press and hold "lock" for at least 3 seconds.
• The horn will honk and the signal lights will flash–this means that the engine has started. The car’s engine runs for approximately 15 minutes before automatically shutting off. While the engine runs, your vehicle stays locked. 
• To turn off the engine using the key fob, press and hold the "lock" button for at least 3 seconds.

Remember that when you remote start your Outback, the climate control system automatically activates at the temperature that you last set. 

Using the MySubaru App To Remote Start Your Outback

• Download the "MySubaru" app and launch it on your device.
• Sign in to your MySubaru account or create an account using your car's VIN at mysubaru.com.
• Within the app, select Subaru Starlink Connected Services and hit "Remote Engine Start."
• Choose "Start" and input your PIN. The turn signal lights flash, meaning that the engine is started and will stay running for 5-10 minutes, depending on your settings.
• To turn off the engine using the MySubaru App, tap the "Engine Stop" button and enter your PIN to confirm.

Additionally, the MySubaru app is super convenient when it comes to climate control and engine efficiency: you have the option to customize engine runtime and climate settings.
